The Centre helps identify and clarify your organisation’s communications objectives
The Global Media Centre works alongside an organisation’s communications and programming team to develop clear objectives and messages that will form the basis of future communications initiatives. This is a crucial step to achieving any goal, whether your organisation intends to change social attitudes, policy or raise funds.
Developing strategic media plans to focus resources on activities that support your overall goals
A strategic media plan identifies upcoming events, reports, studies, grants and organisational developments in which key messages can be communicated, providing a roadmap for an organisation’s communications efforts. Centre staff work with an organisation to build a strategic plan that uses tactics such as press releases, media outreach, events, reports and studies to effectively communicate key messages to the target audience.
The Centre helps its members identify media outlets that reach their target audiences – enabling organisations to reach community leaders, citizens, potential funders or policymakers. Upon defining media targets, the Centre then works to develop a dynamic media database that allows organisations to reach these key media outlets with press materials almost instantly.
Implementing communications plans on a project or
ongoing basis
Partners of the Global Media Centre can use our services to implement media plans on an ongoing basis, or we can advise on how best to develop their own capacity, either through pro bono contributors or internal staff. We can also work with member organisations on a project-basis, supporting communications efforts around particular events or initiatives. In addition, the Centre can develop customized and targeted media databases to help its members reach media with more efficiency.
