There are 110,000 foundations in Europe, employing up to 1,000,000 Europeans, come and see some of their work.
- 2,000m 2 of exhibits, project demos, films, photography and cultural activities
- Open debates with policymakers, foundations and other stakeholders on the issues that matter
The Foundation Week is organised by the European Foundation Centre (EFC). Established in 1989, the EFC is an independent international association of foundations and corporate funders dedicated to advancing the public good in Europe and beyond. The Centre is dedicated to creating an enabling legal and fiscal environment for foundations, documenting the foundation landscape, strengthening the sector’s infrastructure, and promoting collaboration among foundations and between foundations and other players.

The Global Media Centre works with foundations, think tanks, research institutes and other civil society organisations to transform their work into compelling media coverage.
Established by the Network of European Foundations’ Mercator Fund, the Global Media Centre has a strong track record of developing media and advocacy campaigns that result in policy debate and impact.
We work with organisations to clarify their media objectives, resulting in more effective advocacy and policy campaigns.

We share the values of the civil society community and are committed to its goals. As a not-for-profit organisation, we provide our services at rates below those of our commercial counterparts.
Innovative projects to support media development
As part of our commitment to civil society, we work to foster independent media and the free flow of accurate information. We invite organisations involved in media development to contact us regarding collaboration on such projects.
The Global Media Centre was created by the Network of European Foundations Mercator Fund to provide specialised advocacy and strategic media outreach support and guidance to the policy-making and philanthropic community.
